Shumithira is a Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher in Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork. She is also a member of the Centre for Advanced Photonics & Process Analysis (CAPPA) in Cork Institute of Technology. Her research is carried out in close collaboration with PROMIS ITN partners http://www.physics.lancs.ac.uk/promis/consortium/, and includes training and collaborative visits to relevant project partners and external institutes in Europe. Prior to joining Tyndall National Institute in Ireland, Shumithira completed both her Bachelor and Master’s degree in Malaysia. Her Ph.D. project involves optical characterization of novel semiconductor materials and systems using laser spectroscopy techniques.
