Denis Kelly

Senior Researcher

“He holds a BEng in Electronic Engineering from University of Limerick, an MEngSc in Microelectronics from University College Cork and an MBA from Arizona State University. He is an experienced IC design and validation Engineer first specializing in semiconductor equipment manufactured with Applied Materials in the US, Europe and Asia. He subsequently returned to Ireland to work for Tyndall as an IC design engineer specializing in the design of Infra red sensor technology and power supply IC design. He then returned the United States to work as a Hardware Designer with Tatung Telecom in Mountain View, CA. where he designed a novel switch mode power supply which extracted power from a telephone connection whilst simultaneously transmitting audio.
He then joined Intel Corporation working in Sacramento, CA and Phoenix, AZ and was the power validation team lead responsible for validating the first Intel ATOM based SoC products on 45nm and 32nm. He subsequently joined the Intel Embedded Group as a platform Architect specializing in use case analysis for Automotive applications that used the ATOM based SoC’s on 22nm and 14nm. His current area of research is in Mixed-Signal IC design and test of Burst mode receivers and Burst Mode Electronic Dispersion Compensation to be used in 10G/25G Passive Optical Networks and data centres.”
