Eoin received his Doctoral Degree in Physics from UCC (2022) for his work on novel wavelength photonic technologies for sensing and communications applications. His work focused primarily on methods for optical frequency comb and dual frequency comb generation in the 2 µm wavelength range. He received an Irish Research Council Postgraduate Scholarship to pursue his PhD at Tyndall National Institute, within the Photonic Systems Group.
He now works as a researcher in the III-V Materials and Devices group, where he studies laser-assisted spintronic devices for neuromorphic computing applications.
Eoin graduated from University College Cork (UCC) in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics.
