Jahid Hasan

Researcher

Jahid Hasan joined IPIC at Tyndall National Institute as a postdoctoral researcher in the photonics group. His research focuses on FPGA-based control circuit design and prototyping for reconfigurable photonic circuits funded by European Union’s PHORMIC project.

In 2021, he received his Ph.D. for his work on multi-user data transmission in optical wireless body area networks for medical applications from the École Centrale de Marseille, France and in 2016, he received a joint international M.Sc. degree in smart systems integration from Heriot-Watt-University, Edinburgh, U.K. His doctoral research was supported by the European Union’s Marie Sklodowska-Curie Vision ITN Project.

Jahid spent, the year 2022, as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He worked as an ASIC Design Engineer for Fastrack Anontex Ltd. in Dhaka from 2012 to 2014. He also served as a Lecturer with the Department of EEE, AIUB from 2017 to 2018. He worked as an Early-Stage Researcher for the Vision ITN Project, hosted by Oledcomm SAS in Paris, France, from 2018 to 2021. His research interests include optical wireless communications, digital signal processing, and FPGA-based implementation. He was also a recipient of the Erasmus Mundus scholarship during his two years M.Sc. Program from 2014 to 2016.
