Joe O’Halloran holds an undergraduate degree in physics from UCC. During the final semester he completed his Final Year Project in the BioPhotonics Group at Tyndall. This experience encouraged his application for PhD project ‘Innovative Optical Spectroscopy Techniques for Non-Invasive Bone Quality Evaluation’, supervised by Rekha Gautam. What attracted him to the team was an overwhelmingly positive experience during his Final Year Project. Joe is motivated in applying his background in Physics to solving problems which affect people’s health and quality of life.
