Mr Ray Burke has a back ground in Physics and Electronics and holds a research master’s degree in physics in the biomedical application area. He has more than 25 years R&D experience in the ICT and MedTech industries working for large multinational corporations (including Boston Scientific) as a senior design engineer and a research manager. He also worked as program manager for ICT for health in Tyndall for four years. His experience is in application areas such as cardio rhythm management (CRM), system level medical device design, RF and wireless communications, photonic sensors & integration, CMOS camera/image sensors, medical device design and test, biophotonics and electronic circuits. He has 11 patent applications and has worked in an FDA/CE regulated manufacturing environment and with KOL clinicians for next generation medical device design and translation. He engages with clinicians and has a wide network of collaborators and attends surgery, animal and cadaver trials. Ray leads the engagements with medical device companies, including the technical programmes, and clinician engagement.
