Taynara Oliveira

PhD Researcher

In 2020, Taynara commenced her Ph.D. in Applied Physics under the supervision of Dr. Liam O’Faolain in the Nanophotonics group, Centre for Advanced Photonics and Process Analysis (CAPPA) based at Munster Technological University (MTU). She is currently working on Integrated Hybrid Lasers for Optical Sensing project to detect hazardous gas such as Carbon Dioxide (CO2). She is also working on the design and fabrication of a Compact Spot-size Converter based on Graded-Index (GRIN) lens for edge-coupling output. Taynara’s research interests are Nanophotonics, Optoelectronics, Optical Sensing, Process Automation and Nanofabrication.

Taynara received her first degree in Industrial Automation in 2016 from Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de São Paulo (IFSP), Brazil. In 2019, she completed her Master’s degree in Science from Universidade Tecnológica do Paraná (UTFPR), Brazil, where she developed an automated ellipsometer for surface plasmon resonance measurement by optical angulation. She received her M.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE), Italy, (2020) as part of her double degree program.
